The database infrastructure employs Amazon RDS MySQL, and Amazon Route 53 directs the incoming traffic to the load balancer. The Load Balancer is equipped with a health check feature to monitor the web servers and confirm their access to the database. To meet compliance requirements, management has directed the Operations team to establish a disaster recovery site that is geographically separate to maintain business continuity. The stipulated Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is 5 minutes, and the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is set at 2 hours.
